When Carlie moved to Cole Valley last summer, she noticed a “new opening” on her walk to the pharmacy. The aroma of java attracted her olfactory nerve and she breezed into the balloon infested door of PEET’S Coffee and Tea’s GRAND OPENING on that bright August summer’s day. Carlie was thrilled that PEET’S took over the vacant space formerly housed by Tully’s Coffee. “YAY, YAY and YAY”, she splurted out trying not to let the excitement spill her hot cup o joe! And fairly soon after the opening, the locals were haggling PEET’S to expand further. So it wasn’t surprising that Carlie was pleased to see tables and chairs springing up on the sidewalk outside PEET’S!
